MEMBERSHIP FORM INFORMATION

The L.E. Velo. Club is for those who are interested in all aspects of the lightweight twin-cylinder motorcycles manufactured by Veloce of Birmingham between 1948 and 1971 – namely the L.E. and its subsequent developments, the Valiant, Vogue and Viceroy Scooter. Ownership of such machines is NOT a precondition of membership.
The Club, formed in 1950 for the mutual appreciation of these unique machines, has enjoyed continued success throughout the changing values of three decades. Membership currently stands at over 1000 world-wide, an indication of the continued enthusiasm for the marque.

Examples of the benefits gained by membership are:

1) The enjoyment of a magazine “On the Level” mailed free every six weeks.
2) An ever-expanding spares scheme which, although started with bulk purchase from dealers, now encompasses a whole range of specially manufactured parts to our own specification.
3) A service tool loan scheme to enable members to undertake comprehensive repair and restoration work on their machines.
4) The availability of technical and historical advice services.
5) The existence of a number of regional branches, each with their own calendar and social events.
6) The Club is affiliated to the Royal Automobile Club and the British Motorcyclist’s Federation and members can enjoy the benefits offered by these two organisations.

We invite you to join the L.E. Velo. Club today and increase your enjoyment of the lightweight Velocettes. An application form can be printed out via the Membership Form page. On completion, please send to the Membership Secretary, address below. If you wish to pay by Bankers Order please print out and fill in the form below.

Details of members’ account

The Club recognises that the cost of making a number of small payments in UK currency can incur significant exchange costs. The Club therefore offers the facility to deposit sterling in a trust account which can be used to pay membership, spares or other Club payments. This results in the member incurring only one set of exchange costs.

The money is held in a bank account that is separate from Club money. It can only be paid out with the authorisation of the Club member. Any unspent money will be refunded at the member’s request within 21 days, subject to exchange mechanisms. The account is operated by the Treasurer, to whom all correspondence should be sent:

Ian Jones,  10 Green Courts,  BOWDON,  Cheshire,  WA14 2SR

Note: money deposited on trust will not attract interest. The overseas member will bear any exchange costs – for example, in the case of money being returned to the member, the transaction cost will be deducted from the amount returned. Such costs will only be third party charges, mainly bank charges.

How to pay money in

To use this facility the money can be deposited in the account either by money order or interbank deposit. If you are sending via the banking system please ensure that the member’s name is given on the remittance. Receipt will be acknowledged by post

If you want to send a money order, or equivalent, it should be sent to the Treasurer at the above address, made payable to LE Velo Club Ltd.
